My Guiding Priorities And Key Priorities

The Council belongs to the community. Rebuild trust in the Council by Town Hall doing differently. A smarter, tighter, clean Town Hall HQ, with selected customer facing resources physically relocated to on the ground in-community locations (a branch network). Putting heart and community back into the Council and its everyday activities. Our council is part of our community.

A – Council’s Senior Management Capabilities – Fresh energy, skills, and open minds. The City of Port Phillip is very diverse, which in turn drives business complexity. This places even greater importance on having the right senior management in place.

B – Stick To Council Relevant Topics – And focus on the Council’s actual performance. The Council provides important everyday services to the community – customers. Spend less time on ‘nice to have’ fringe policies and more energy on improving service delivery.

C – Do The Community Basics Well – Cleaner, greener public spaces, enhanced pet ownership, a balanced approach to transport, community safety. The Council cannot be all things to all people all the time. Saying ‘no’ is a healthy discipline. It is being real and honest.

D – Acknowledge Each Ward’s Uniqueness – Council staff to be based in each local community across the municipality – closer to the customer. Staff more accessible, greater opportunity for each community’s distinctive needs to be better understood and met.
